Meet Peter Werkhoven

During his twenty-five-year career as a master gilder and frame-maker, Peter Werkhoven has framed original masterworks works by artists such as Picasso, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Vermeer and Rubens. He has also collaborated with institutions such as the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Steve Wynn Collection, auction houses such as Sotheby’s and Christie’s and numerous designers and art collectors throughout the world.

He apprenticed under Paul Gehring, a third generation master frame-maker, in his native Amsterdam for many years and immigrated to the United States in 2004, where he became the only European craftsman of his kind on the west coast.
